Bestway Grocery, known for its massive wall of beer in Greensboro’s Lindley Park neighborhood, is about to step up its wine game.

The grocery store and neighborhood market aims to start offering 16 different wines in one, two or four-ounce pours at the beginning of February, owner Roger Kimbrough said today.

The dispensers from Napa Technology — similar to a Vinomatic – will allow customers to sample wines so they have a better sense of what bottle they might want to buy, he said. The selection will focus on imports such as Italian, French and South African wines, and he compared the forthcoming choices to an eclectic wine shop rather than a grocery store.

Bestway will likely host wine tap-takeovers to showcase a featured distributor or wine region/country, and possibly off-site wine dinners, he said.

Beer on site isn’t too far away either — in March or April if Kimbrough has his way — but there are additional regulations and Bestway will need to install a handicap-accessible bathroom first, he said.
