It’s the first Tuesday in July and the Greensboro City Council has approved a budget for the new fiscal year. According to custom, then, they’re taking a break, and so no council meeting tonight.

Today:

• The Great Escape, Bandito Burrito and Truckin’ with Tipsy’z provide the vittles at today’s food-truck roundup at Center City Park in Greensboro from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Local poets, writers and musicians provide an hour of entertainment at Winston Square Park from noon to 1 p.m.

• Geeksboro Coffeehouse Cinema, located at 2134 Lawndale Drive in Greensboro, screens the World Cup soccer match between the United States and Belgium from 4 to 6 p.m.

Tonight:

Dish Crawl celebrates pies both sweet and savory, featuring one secret and essential ingredient — surprise. The restaurants on the itinerary will be revealed when ticketed customers meet at 7 p.m. Contact [email protected] for information about tickets and such.

• Matty Sheets host the open mic at New York Pizza, located at 337 Tate St. in Greensboro, at 9:30 p.m.
