Every Wednesday this month I tell you about a free organ concert. Today it’s Mary Lou Kapp Peeples, at noon at the Tannenberg Organ in the James A. Gray, Jr. Auditorium in the Old Salem Visitor Center. Have any of you gone to one of these weekly events yet? Please tell me how it is.

I also tell you that there’s Toons @ Noon at Greensboro’s Center City Park. This week it’s Donna Hughes (pictured).

Tonight:

This is completely nerdy and totally awesome at the same time: Preservation Greensboro is leading a walking tour of downtown’s historic architectural structures. If you looked at Triad City Beat today maybe you read about their efforts to save the Cascade Saloon downtown, or you saw the historic photos of downtown in the cover story (seriously check it out, those shots are really amazing).

The walking tour starts at 7 p.m. and meets at the Green Bean. It will take about an hour.

Apparently four acts— Alignak, Hi-Rollers, Eric Dailyplanet Murphy and Taylor Bays — are playing a birthday show for some dude at New York Pizza in Greensboro. It’s public though, and it starts at 8 p.m.
