Photographer Frank Simon is taking people’s photos for free at the Green Bean in Greensboro from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. The photos (see left) will be part of a “Portraiture & Identity” show at the coffee shop.

If you read the Daily Beats regularly, you know the drill. It’s Wednesday in July, so that means someone is giving a free organ concert at the the Old Salem Visitor Center at noon. This week it’s Ray Ebert.

MOSAIC Summer Nights is celebrating Africa and the Middle East tonight starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Railyard in Greensboro. There will be food from Iraq, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of Congo, music from Senegal, and more.

There’s an artists’ reception tonight from 6-8 p.m. for the folks in The Art of Delurk at the Milton Rhodes Arts Center.

The Triad After Work Social Business Networking event is being held today at 6 p.m. at Cafe Pasta in Greensboro, and a half hour later there is an anti-fracking organizing meeting at Geeksboro nearby. And then Geeksboro is celebrating Batman at 8 p.m. Kudos to anyone who hits two of three.

There’s also a speed dating event at Finnigan’s Wake for anyone between 23-35 tonight at 7 p.m.
