Daily Beat: June 25, 2014

I’m kinda confused about how we’re already so far into June, but hey, it’s the 25th and here’s what’s happening today.

Bright and early: Tech Council’s Speaker Series event, “Generation Y: A Field Guide and Business Impact,” starts at  9 a.m. at Wake Forest Biotech Place in Winston-Salem, while the regular IdeaSlam at Geeksboro in Greensboro starts at 8.

It’s probably too late to RSVP, but there’s a pretty well known religious speaker coming to theCommunity Arts Cafe in Winston-Salem this morning at 10 a.m: Ched Meyers’ talk is entitled “Our God is Undocumented.”

Toons @ Noon at Center City Park in Greensboro, featuring Martha Bassett and food trucks. While the lineup changes, this is a weekly event, so it might be more interesting to check out SynerG’s “Lunch & Learn” event about food deserts at noon at Elon Law.

The first Mosaic Summer Nights event kicks off at the Railyard at 5:30 p.m. with a focus on Asian cultures. Includes home cooking from Burma and Bhutan as well as a Bhutanese guitarist.

Paul McCartney is coming to Greensboro, but if you can’t wait there’s a Beatles cover band playing at the Barn Dinner Theater in Greensboro tonight at 6 p.m.

Bluegrass band the Loose Cannons are playing at Foothills in downtown Winston-Salem at 8 p.m. tonight.

Today’s winning event: a vegan buffet, Bikenomics and a guest speaker are coming to Green Door Wheel Works in High Point at 7 p.m.  Details here.
