The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities Commission meets at City Council Chambers in City Hall, located at 101 N. Main St. in Winston-Salem, at 2 p.m.

The finance committee of the Winston-Salem City Council takes another pass at the budget at its meeting in Room 239 of City Hall at 4:30 p.m. Here’s the agenda.


Winston-Salem City Attorney Angela Carmon will give the public safety committee an update on the Nitty Gritty Soul Cafe at its 6 p.m. meeting in the Committee Room on the second floor of City Hall. The city has been monitoring the establishment since a February 2013 shooting resulted in the death of one person and injury to three others.

The committee will also receive a report from fire Chief Antony Farmer on a proposed ordinance to encourage stove-top fire suppressors in residential dwellings. More from the agenda here.
