It’s Labor Day, which is why our staff was scrambling to get our reporting done on Friday, knowing that every local government office would be closed. Relax and take stock of the last gasp of summer, and by all means pay respect to the courageous individuals in the labor movement who sacrificed to bring us the eight-hour day, the weekend and paid vacation.
