The Winston-Salem City Council will consider a resolution approving a route for a proposed Urban Circulator streetcar. The route under consideration connects Baptist Hospital, BB&T Ballpark, downtown, Wake Forest Innovation Quarter, Winston-Salem State University and the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive commercial corridor of East Winston. No funding is being allocated to the project at this time. The council meets in Room 230 of City Hall, located at 101 N. Main St., at 7 p.m. Jordan Green will be at City Hall live-tweeting the meeting for Triad City Beat.

The agenda also includes consideration of a $200,000 operating loan to Northwest Child Development Centers.

The consent agenda, which is approved wholesale unless a council member asks to pull an item for discussion, includes authorization of an expenditure of $345,850 to pay a company associated with developer Hank Perkins for property to be used as a police district outpost on Waughtown Street; an extension of an arrangement in which the city holds property in lieu of foreclosure for Goler Community Development Corp. for the purpose of a mixed-use development; forgiveness of $165,673 from a loan to Southeast Gateway Ventures.

The meeting also includes a public comment period.

Glenwood Branch Library, located at 1901 W. Florida St. in Greensboro, offers a free Introduction to English class from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

And in Winston-Salem, the Milton Rhodes Arts Center holds a general membership meeting at the Mountcastle Forum — that’s the second-floor assembly hall — at 7 p.m.
