About 75 people marched down Washington Street in High Point today as part of an event billed as the Kill the Violence Movement to take a stand against gun violence.
The event honored victims such as Darrell Deion McCormick and gave family members such as the young man’s mother, Sharon McCormick, an opportunity to talk about the impact of violence on the community.
The march ended at Washington Terrace Park, where elected officials such as Mayor Bernita Sims and Councilman Jeff Golden and others were expected to speak during a panel discussion.
