It’s Friday morning. Wrap up the week by being a good citizen.

  • HIGH POINT: The Love the Bus event at Oak Hill Elementary “will celebrate the importance of school buses,” according to a presser. The featured guest speaker is US Sec. of Transportation Anthony Foxx, but Guilford County Schools Superintendent Mo Green, embattled High Point Mayor Bernita Sims and Rep. Howard Coble, the man BuzzFeed termed the most badass congressman alive, are also on the bill. Action begins at 9:30 a.m.

  • HIGH POINT: US Sen. Richard Burr comes to town for a visit at Andrews Aviation Academy, which has been training workers for the burgeoning local industry since 2008, graduating its first pilots in 2011. The senator hits the room at 11 a.m., and it’s a safe bet there will be some pictures taken.
