All is quiet on the western (eastern, and southern) front(s) of the Triad, unless of course you’re going to the Grimsley High School building advisory team meeting in the school media center at 9 a.m.

You’re not? Okay, I won’t feign surprise, but if you’re reading this, that means you’re already planning to read the new issue of Triad City Beat, posted all around you on this site. So go ahead and immerse yourself. I bet you’ll like it more than college radio DJs love Neutral Milk Hotel or Future Islands (yeah, even the WUAG DJs).Actually there is one interesting thing you should stop by this morning — the city of Winston-Salem and the Arts Council are unveiling two sculptures that are being installed in front of the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts at 11 a.m. Read more about it in — you guessed it — the new issue of Triad City Beat.

TedxGreensboro is live-steaming a Ted conference in Vancouver today from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. at the NC A&T/UNCG Joint School of Nanoscience & Nanoengineering, but registration is already closed.

A little later in the day, the Greensboro City Council’s east Greensboro subcommittee meets in the plaza level conference room at 4 p.m. There’s some stuff happening tonight, but you’ll have to check back at 4 p.m. for the Evening Standard low down.
