Hundreds of people rallied in Greensboro in solidarity with the people of Ferguson on Nov. 25, blocking Elm Street and marching through part of the center city.

As demonstrations continued in Ferguson, Mo. and around the country in the wake of the grand jury decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of 18-year old Mike Brown, people gathered at Greensboro’s government plaza. The rally eventually turned into a short march around the corner to the International Civil Rights Center & Museum, where the sit-in movement began in 1960, before taking over all lanes of South Elm Street and continuing.

Police kept their distance, initially trying to keep people on the sidewalk but quickly giving up.
