WhoDat Festival, held at family-run music venue Doodad Farm in Greensboro, will celebrate its fourth year running on Saturday, August 15, and the planning committee has secured the lineup of bands for the main stage.
Greensboro’s own Crystal Bright and the Silver Hands will take their ethereal sound to the DooDad stage. Three bands from the Research Triangle Park will also bring the noise: self-described surf witches See Gulls, Irish rockers the Tan and Sober Gentlemen and funk-rockers the Chit Nasty Band — themselves previous WhoDat veterans. Asheville indie darlings the Tills, Wilmington folk-rock orchestra the Midatlantic and Saxapahaw’s Vaughn Aed round out Saturday’s bill.
The exact schedule and performers on the satellite stages are yet to be determined.
Aside from the music, WhoDat will also feature a local comedy showcase from the Idiot Box, a beard and mustache competition sponsored by the Greensboro chapter of the Beard and Mustache Club, food trucks, artisanal vendors, skill shares and more.
Attendees may camp on the property and are encouraged to do so. While no bands will be scheduled for the next day, an open mic called the “Democratic Stage” will be open for performances.
Doodad Farm is located at 4701 Land Rd. in Greensboro. For more information, visit whodatfestival.com or find Doodad Farm’s page on Facebook.
