3. Winston-Salem
We’re analyzing traffic data in the Power Ranking this week, with an eye towards the worst intersections in each city — that is, the ones with the most car accidents per year. The data is skewed a bit, as Google’s ranking says it cites numbers from 2006, but whatever. It’s better than Movoto. For this study Winston-Salem comes in last because of the notorious North Point Boulevard and University Parkway, which saw 55 accidents in the year documented. The second-worst at Robinhood Road and Silas Creek Parkway saw 48.
2. High Point
The worst intersection in High Point is at the corner of Fairfield Road and Main Street, which saw 29 accidents in this metric. The corner of Eastchester and Wendover avenues in northern High Point hosted 26 such collisions.
1. Greensboro
The corner of Guilford College Road and Interstate 40 was the scene of just 17 collisions according to the Google tally, nothing compared to the activity in the other cities, but enough to earn it the dubious title of most dangerous intersection in Greensboro. All of the Gate City’s Top 3 bad intersections come off of the interstate: The Highway 68 crossroads took in 14 accidents, while 13 happened at Gallimore Dairy Road.
