• Greensboro City Council meets in Council Chamber of the Melvin Municipal Office Building, located at 300 W. Washington St., at 5:30 p.m. You can bet the votes are already counted to pass a resolution encouraging the state to expand Medicaid, which Mayor Nancy Vaughan placed on the agenda.

• The Community Development/Housing/General Government Committee of Winston-Salem City Council meets in Room 239 of City Hall, located at 101 N. Main St., at 4:30 p.m. The agenda includes adoption of the city council’s legislative agenda and a report on the Revitalizing Urban Commercial Areas program.

• Then, at 6 p.m., the Public Works Committee takes over the room to hear an update on the city’s greenway projects and a presentation on the Winston Lake and Salem Lake master plans.

• In High Point, the Comprehensive Planning Committee chaired by Councilwoman Becky Smothers, meets in the Lobby Conference Room on the third floor of the Municipal Building, located at 211 S. Hamilton St., at 4 p.m.

• The Greensboro Public Library offers a workshop on how to write a business plan from 6 to 8 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Central Library, located at 219 N. Church St.

• Looking for live music in Greensboro tonight? Lobo Marino, Miah Luz and Willower are at Glenwood Coffee and Books (1310 Glenwood Ave.) at 8 p.m., while the venerable Matty Sheets presides over open mic at New York Pizza (337 Tate St.) beginning at 9:30 p.m.
