Alexandra Joye Warren & JOYEMOVEMENT dance company debuted A Wicked Silence at Lebauer Park on Friday. Warren, Downtown Parks Inc. inaugural artist in residence, shed light on North Carolina’s eugenics program that lasted until the 1970s.
A Wicked Silence deals with the forced sterilization of women, particularly Black women, Warren says. The event kicked off National Dance Day in Greensboro.
