It’s World Elephant Day! Today, we celebrate the preservation and protection of elephants around the world. They’re the largest existing land animal, recognized for their trunks, tusks, large, flappy ears and thick skin. They’re native to Africa and South Asia. Sadly, because of poaching and habitat loss, there are only about 500,000 elephants left in the world.
