Guilford County school parents, students and community members gathered outside of the school board meeting on Tuesday evening to celebrate books, teachers, libraries and the need for fully funded public schools. The event, which was partially organized by Down Home NC, was in response to the recent wave of book bannings that have been taking place across the country.
The event also called for voters to pass the school bond that will be on the ballot this May, as well as the tax increase that will help pay for the bond.
