Our cover story this week tells you exactly where to find the best boba tea in the Triad. Boba or bubble tea is a tea-based iced drink that contains tapioca balls at the bottom of the cup. You’ve heard of tapioca, but what even is it? It’s a starch taken from the roots of the cassava plant native to the north and central-west regions of Brazil, and it’s most commonly used in tapioca pudding, a combination of tapioca balls, sugar, milk and vanilla extract.
