The historic Dixie building at the corner of Bellemeade and Eugene streets across from the Grasshoppers stadium in Greensboro came down today. The former apartment building, along with the structure that housed the famous lesbian bar Time Out was torn down to make space for a mixed-use complex by developer Roy Carroll.
Carroll, who owns the Center Pointe condo tower downtown and the right-wing Rhino Times newspaper, plans to include a hotel as part of the project.

Yup Roy Carroll is an ass hole and is bad for Greensboro. I understand that a car dealership is taking the place? Really? Look at the Mercury dealership nice empty building. So tear down a part of historic Greensboro for a car dealership nice move. Well at lease Greensboro is still the loudest city in the state.
