Myrtle Beach, one of the few cities still in the running for Stone Brewing’s East Coast distribution facility, has been cut, according to the Stone Brewed on the Beach Facebook page.
“We received word yesterday from a representative from the South Carolina Department of Commerce that the Myrtle Beach area is not among the final locations selected by Stone Brewing Company for their East Coast expansion,” the post reads. “While we are disappointed that we did not win the project, we couldn’t be more proud of the effort that was put forth by this community.”
Greensboro is one of several remaining cities that hope to land the facility, which would include hundreds of jobs. Representatives from Stone Brewing were in Greensboro last week checking out the city and meeting with the local team and supporters who want the brewery to open operations in the Gate City.
Mayor Nancy Vaughan said there would soon be another round of cuts, so there is a chance Greensboro will hear soon about whether or not it is still in the running. Stay posted here!
