Our unconfirmed report last week that Preyer Brewing Company will be coming to the former Steele & Vaughn building downtown turned out to be on the money.
Nicole Preyer, the company’s spokesperson, confirmed this afternoon that Preyer Brewing Company signed a lease for 600 Battleground Avenue today. Building owner Andy Zimmerman said that he already signed the lease on Friday, so the deal is now official.
Triad City Beat broke the news on Thursday that the owners of Crafted: Art of the Taco would open a second location with a new theme alongside a brewery in the building near Deep Roots Market. The two businesses will be independently operated but share the same building, which is at the corner of Eugene Street and Battleground Avenue on the north side of downtown Greensboro.
Zimmerman said he hopes both businesses will be able to open in January 2015. He also owns the building on Lewis Street downtown where Gibb’s Hundred Brewing is under construction.
