• The finance committee of Winston-Salem City Council meets at 4:30 p.m. in Room 239 of City Hall, located at 101 N. • After the finance committee wraps up its business, the public safety committee convenes in Room 239 at 6 p.m. The public safety committee will consider a request for Taser Axon Flex cameras for officers to use as part of a transition from in-car to body-worn cameras, and hear a status report on the development of police district.
• Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Epic for Our Time (see trailer above) screens at Krankies Coffee, located at 211 E. Third St. in Winston-Salem, at 6:30 p.m. Camel City Food Truck will be on hand to provide grub at 5:30 p.m.
• A free Introduction to English class will be held at the Glenwood Branch Library, located at 1901 W. Florida St. in Greensboro from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
• High Point City Council will hear public comment on a proposal by Councilman Jeff Golden to rename the entirety of Green Drive in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. when it meets at 5:30 p.m. The public comment period begins at 6 p.m. Background here.
