One of the highlights of this weekend’s Phuzz Phest so far has been seeing DC-power trio Ex Hex shred at the new Bailey Park bandshell as the lights of the Reynolds American lit up the Winston-Salem skyline as dusk descended on the Camel City.

They aptly describe themselves as “unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll spat out in the discipline’s mother tongue.” Searing leads, primal, throbbing bass lines and intuitive, crackerjack drumming complemented by abundant attitude creates the full package.

They’ll be hanging around the Triad this weekend, and heading next door to Greensboro for a free show on the Stone Lawn at UNCG at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
