Local McDonald’s workers are planning to speak out and protest against wage theft on Tuesday, according to a press release sent out minutes ago. The NC Raise Up campaign said that workers will hold an action at noon on Tuesday at 617 Green Valley Rd. (the location of a McDonald’s store) in Greensboro.
“On March 13, workers in 3 states filed a historic class action lawsuit against McDonald’s revealing that McDonald’s… has been committing rampant wage theft against its employees,” the press release said, “forcing workers to work off the clock, not paying workers for overtime, or forcing workers to pay back register shortages out of pocket.”
Two fast-food strike actions have been held in Greensboro as part of a statewide labor campaign, as well as other local protests like the one in this video at Church’s Chicken:
