Maneuvering Open Gate City’s website can be… challenging. A massive database holding tens of thousands of emails sent to city councilmembers since 2021, the public-facing database is hard to use. In the list-style set we used, the message text of emails appears as an underscore, and you can’t open them.
So TCB‘s web master, Sam LeBlanc, recently created a public tool that anyone can use to search through and read city council emails that are pulled from the city’s database.
“This seems like a public service,” LeBlanc said. “The original tool was so difficult to use that it seemed like they were actively obscuring things.”
But now, with TCB‘s new tool, anyone can look through GSO city council emails! Check it out here and let us know if you find anything interesting!

Information on employee salaries, fire incidents, and police department data on charges, crime, traffic violations, and use of force are available on the website as well.
