The Rev. Paul Lowe was sworn in as state senator representing District 32, which covers much of Winston-Salem, this afternoon at Shiloh Baptist Church, where he serves as pastor.
Members of the executive committee of the Forsyth County Democratic Party favored Lowe by a wide margin over Joycelyn Johnson in a special election on Jan. 29. Lowe was appointed by Gov. Pat McCrory to fill the vacant seat the following day. Earline Parmon, who previously held the seat, resigned to handle local constituent services for US Rep. Alma Adams in the 12th Congressional District.
