First things first: Tonight we’re celebrating the launch of Triad City Beat, and we’d love it if you joined us. Starting at 8:30 p.m., we’ll be kicking back at Old Town Draught House on Spring Garden Street in Greensboro. This is an informal party — we will throw a real one once we’re more settled in — but come grab a copy, meet the staff, and raise a glass.

Winston-Salem’s Historic Resource Commission Education Committee meets at 6 p.m. in the second floor conference room of the Stuart Municipal Building. Speaks for itself.

If that’s not enough for you, The Greensboro Downtown Residents Association is holding its annual meeting at the Community Theatre of Greensboro at 6 p.m. Advance registration is required, but there will be “drinks and heavy appetizers.” Plus, Mayor Nancy Vaughan will be there to talk about her vision for the Gate City.

There’s also a show at Krankie’s Coffee starting at 9 p.m. with local acts the Girlfriends and the Winston Facials joined by “Awesome Canadian pop” band Each Other.
