Kristina Fuller, the chef behind downtown Greensboro’s immensely popular Crafted taco joint, was featured as a competing chef on “Cutthroat Kitchen.”

Season 3 Episode 9, “Life’s a Mystery… Meat,” of the Food Network show included Fuller and three other chefs.

As a first-time viewer of the show, it was complicated to follow the twists thrown into the cooking competition, but still gratifying to see one of the Triad’s popular chefs appearing on a nationally-televised Food Network show.

Screen shot 2014-05-15 at 2.54.14 PM A critic on the show who sampled each contestant’s dish took issue with Fuller calling her creation (left) a taco, as he contended it was more like a flatbread with pork on it. Still, he complimented the flavors, including the sweet sauce on a salty pork product.

“That’s what works for me,” he said, “but you know the issue is, the composition could’ve been a little better. ”

Fuller didn’t come away victorious, by the show’s standards, but I’d still count this as a win for her, Crafted and Greensboro.Screen shot 2014-05-15 at 2.43.01 PM
