More news from downstairs.

An Instagram post by Greensboro musician Ben Singer, who lives upstairs from the from the old Simple Kneads bakery in downtown, initially tipped us off to the plans, but Kateland Case with the Table Farm Bakery & Eatery in Asheboro confirmed it.

There’s a new bakery coming to the troubled alleyway spot, a space that’s been home to Simple Kneads and Loaf bakeries in recent years but which had been closed for several months.

The rustic-hipster-chic Asheboro business is already using the space as a sort of satellite kitchen to bake for the Asheboro location, said Case, who is one of the business’ managers. They plan to open a bakery storefront in the Greensboro location, though Case declined to provide details about what it would entail or a target opening date.
